My Favourite Comic Sites

Here are sites that I regularly visit, I wouldn't have these sites here unless I personally enjoyed going to them!

Alpha Shade
This is a beautifully crafted work that reveals the evolution of its creators. Alpha Shade tracks the adventures of a group of friends who become entangled in the political affairs of a World War I era alternate universe. Well researched and full of action and intrigue, you'll enjoy this well made comic. The creators also host an podcast that is very entertaining if you are a grumpy nerd!

Blackbird
Drawing inspiration from gaming phenomena such as Ragnarok Online, the creator of Blackbird is, in my opinion, one of the best talents on the net. Blackbird is now running a re-write of the original storyline that the creator discontinued. The story is character driven and enjoyable. It follows a very anime-like narrative, but the plot and characters are compelling enough to keep you from running away. I highly recommend this read!

Outsider
Outsider is a stunning comic to look at. Inspired by many sci-fi classics (especially the illustrious Mater of Orion series) this comic will give you a strong dose of western style science-fiction, ahhhh, that's good stuff. It doesn't update very often, so get ready to become a deprived fan.

Red String
Red String is a wonderfully woven romance comic that is very easy to digest. The creator regularly updates 3 times a week, which is fantastic for art and story of such high caliber.

For Mature Audiences Only
IMPORTANT - The list below this point contains comics not suitable for young audiences.

Haru Sari
A hidden gem of the comic world, Haru-Sari is suspenseful, beautifully illustrated, and magnificently original. The creator of Haru-Sari specializes in intrigue and character development that will move you through the story with great anticipation.

Kagerou
This is, bar none, the best work of art on the internet - I do not exaggerate here. Kagerou starts off with an alternative fantasy plot that quickly reveals a psychological thriller arc of nearly unfathomable depth. Either side of this story would be a smashing read, but the creator has entwined the two into a supreme masterpiece. For those who like to probe insanity and explore the virtues of impurity, there is no better story.

The Zombie Hunters
I hate the zombie genre. But The Zombie Hunters is to zombies what X-Com is to aliens - A systematically developed sci-fi world with rhyme and reason. This makes a reader such as myself comfortable with a genre that is usually just used for cheap horror. Aside from that, you may enjoy the artist's projection of herself (as well as a group of her friends) into the roles of the leading characters, quite an interesting experiment.
